Affiliate income is great…until it’s not

Hi Reader,

A quick update before I get into this, Xanthe is okay! The teeth situation is still a bit of a work in progress, but we’re out of the immediate chaos.

Thank you to everyone who replied to my last email. I’ve read every single one, even if I haven’t had a chance to respond properly yet.

Alright. On to today's shenanigans…

I just ran a workshop on how I make affiliate income. (If you’re not familiar, affiliate income is basically recommending something you like and getting paid if someone buys through your link… and no, you don’t need a business for it to work.)

Straight out of the gate, I said this: Affiliate income is great…until it’s not.

Because you can end up promoting something you don’t actually like and now you have to keep talking about it.

Or people buy something because you said it was good and then it doesn’t deliver.

Or you put a bunch of effort in and then the company changes how they pay their affiliates and you’re like, cool… that was fun. Complete waste of my time.

Or you do everything “right” and someone clicks someone else’s affiliate link at the last second and you get zip.

So I started there.

Then I talked about how I actually make affiliate income without turning into one of those people who suddenly don’t sound like themselves the second money is involved.

Personally, I never use the swipe copy they provide.

I don’t suddenly get more profesh, because face it, this is who I am.

I just talk about the things I already use and like, in the same way I’d talk about them anyway.

Which, fun fact, converts a hell of a lot better.

I’ve literally made an affiliate sale in the supermarket checkout just by chatting about something I was using.

No strategy or funnel needed, just an honest conversation.

Making money through affiliates isn’t about blasting links everywhere and hoping someone clicks.

It’s about knowing something actually helps, and being willing to say that out loud.

If you want to check out the training, it’s now inside The Done Era.

Here’s the direct link to the training. If you’re not in yet, it’ll take you to the sign-up page first.

I also covered what to do if you’re sitting there thinking, “this sounds great, but I have no idea what I’d even share.”

I’m also going to do a follow-up Q&A to answer the questions that have been coming in (and anything else that pops up).

So if you watch the replay and you’ve got a question, chuck it in and I’ll include it.

Full transparency, so we’re not doing the awkward dance… I do have an affiliate program inside The Done Era. You’re welcome to use it if you want something easy to start with. You don’t have to.

The whole point of the workshop was showing you how to do this in a way that actually feels like you, not like you’re reading off someone else’s script.

Much love,
Suzanne
