Deck the halls (and not your family) fa la la la la la la

Hi Reader,

Christmas has a vibe.

Sometimes that vibe is sparkly lights, full hearts, and a suspicious amount of cheese.

Sometimes that vibe is being trapped in a lounge room with people who still think “just let it go” is helpful advice.

This is your annual reminder that:
• You are not required to tolerate nonsense because it’s Christmas.
• You do not owe access to your nervous system to anyone with shared DNA.
• Peace on earth starts with peace in your body.

Deck the halls, sure.

But you are not obligated to deck your boundaries, your energy, or your sanity.

You are allowed to:
• Leave early.
• Say no without a TED Talk.
• Eat dessert first.
• Hide in the bathroom scrolling your phone.
• Skip the whole damn thing.

If you’re feeling tender, overwhelmed, or quietly counting down until it’s socially acceptable to go home, you’re not broken. You’re just human in December.

If all you do today is get through, that counts.

If you laugh, rest, or choose yourself even once, that counts too.

Wishing you a Christmas that feels safe, soft enough, and mildly entertaining.

Fa la la la la la la,

Suzanne
