The power of naming what drains you

Hi Reader,

Inside The Done Era community recently we played a little game. A cheeky, cathartic, wildly honest A to Z of things we are absolutely, unapologetically done with.

It turned into a collective exhale. A permission slip. A rally cry. A reminder that you are not the only one who has been carrying way too much for far too long.

Here is the community’s A to Z manifesto. Every line written by a member. Every line a tiny rebellion.

A: Apologising for existing
B: Being the default parent
C: Cleaning up other people’s emotional mess
D: Doing all the work in a relationship
E: Examining myself for flaws to fix for other people’s approval
F: Fucking around doing mental work when I am here to do bigger and better things
G: Going along with plans I never wanted in the first place
H: Having guilt for needing a mental reset day
I: Intense hustle in business
J: Just getting by
K: Knaves that deceive without conscience
L: Lowering my expectations to suit others
M: Managing everyone else's emotions
N: Not feeling good enough
O: Overcommitting then resenting everyone and everything
P: Pussy footing around my truth
Q: Questing in business like I'm in a video game
R: Reaching for my phone instead of my journal
S: Setting my needs aside for others
T: Trying to always accomplish the impossible
U: Understanding why other people feel they can treat me like a doormat
V: Venting instead of taking action
W: Waiting for someone else to fix the problem
X: Xmas shopping
Y: Yes to things I know are no
Z: Zooming in on someone’s potential while ignoring their disrespect

Reading through this list, I had two thoughts.

First: holy hell this community is powerful.
Second: you deserve a space where you can put your load down too.

The Done Era isn’t about being perfect. It isn’t about keeping up. It isn’t about performing wellness or self care to impress anyone.

It's about naming what drains you, letting go of what hurts you and claiming what actually supports you.

Sometimes that happens through someone saying out loud what you have been thinking for years.

Sometimes through a moment of brutal honesty with yourself.

Sometimes through a silly alphabet game that unlocks something real in you.

If you read this list and felt yourself nodding, smiling, or whispering “oh my gosh, me too!” come join us in The Done Era. This is the kind of energy you will be surrounded by every day. The kind that makes you breathe easier. The kind that reminds you to choose yourself instead of defaulting to everyone else’s needs.

Your to do list might nag you with expectations but this community meets you where you are.

Much love,

Suzanne

What I'm Reading...

Wintering by Katherine May. Re-reading this feels like sitting down with a wise friend who hands you a blanket, a hot drink, and permission to stop pretending you’re fine. This book is a gentle but powerful exploration of rest, self-care, and tending to yourself through life’s darker seasons.
