Hi Reader,
Last year, my daugther Xanthie played AFL (Australian rules football) in a Division 1 team that absolutely dominated. They won. A lot.She was new to the game, so she mostly stood in the backs, watching it all happen up the other end.
Technically on a winning team, but barely in the game.
Fast forward to now. New state. New team. Trial game last night.
They got absolutely decimated.
No public scoreboard, but trust me…it was not pretty.
But it was the best game she’s ever played.
She tackled. She kicked. She was in it. Properly in it.
At the end she was glowing. Buzzing. Couldn’t stop talking about it.
Didn’t care one bit that they lost by a landslide.
I keep thinking about how easy it is to chase the “Division 1 life.”
The version where it looks good. Sounds impressive. Ticks all the boxes. But you’re barely touching the ball.
Versus being in something messy. Visible. A bit uncomfortable.Where you’re actually playing.
Truly participating in your own life and getting your hands dirty instead of standing at the edge hoping it all goes well.
Because those are two very different experiences, even if one looks better on paper.
So I’m curious…
Where in your life are you on the “winning team” but not really in the game?
And where might it be time to step onto a field where you actually get to play… even if it’s scrappy, even if it’s not impressive (yet), even if you’re getting tackled a bit?
Something to ponder!
Much love,
Suzanne
PS. If this hit, this is exactly what we practise inside The Done Era. Less standing on the sidelines of your own life. More actually getting in the game.
There’s currently a “join for a year and save 50%” option if you already know you’re done hovering and ready to be in it.
Start with a 7 day trial. Stay for a month. Or lock it in for the year. See what shifts.
